Fuel Use Policy – Car Hire in Uganda
Vehicles are generally supplied on a “¼ to ¼ “basis. Or empty to empty basis. No credit will be given for unused fuel at the end of the rental.
We endeavor to provide an easy and open car rental service. One of the most important parts of our rental contract is our Fuel Use Policy, meant to give clarity on fuel use expectations prior to, during, and after your rental duration.
Fuel Policy Options
We have varying fuel policy options to suit a range of customer requirements:
Full-to-Full Policy: You’ll have the rental car with a full gas tank, and you should return it full. This entails paying for only what you use.
Prepaid Fuel Option: It is feasible to prepay for a full tank at the start of the rental. By doing this, you can bring back the car with any fuel level and worry not about filling it up.
Same Level Return: In some cases, we provide the car with a certain fuel level, and you have to return it at the same level so as not to incur additional charges.
Refueling Charges
When the car is returned with fewer fuel than noted, refueling charge will be applied. This includes the cost of missing fuel plus a service refueling charge.
Fuel Types & Recommendations
To operate the vehicle at optimum performance, proper fuel type should be used:
Petrol (Gasoline) Vehicles: Regular unleaded fuel.
Diesel Vehicles: Use only high-quality diesel fuel.
Using the incorrect fuel type may lead to mechanical breakdown, and the customers are responsible for the repair cost.
Fuel Stations & Availability
There is a good coverage of fuel stations like Shell, Total, and PetroCity in Uganda, making it convenient to refuel. When traveling to the rural areas, however, we recommend you fill up in major towns to avoid running out of fuel.
Eco-Friendly Tips for Fuel Use
In order to have the best rental experience possible while saving on fuel, utilize the following green driving tips:
Drive consistently and do not hit the gas suddenly.
Use tires at appropriate pressure to conserve fuel.
Do not drive idly for long, especially in urban traffic.
Customer Responsibilities

Return the car to the level agreed upon to avoid extra charges.
Keep fuel receipts for inspection if necessary.
